Mavado is a popular Jamaican dancehall singer who is best known for his numerous hit songs.
Mavado was born David Constantine Brooks on November 30, 1980, in Kingston, Jamaica. He grew up in a ghetto called Cuban. There is no information about his parents and early childhood life.
Mavado largely took inspiration from Bounty killer. Bounty took him under his influence and introduced him to his manager Julian Jones-Griffith. He decided to name himself “Mavado” after the Swiss watch company Movado, with his manager altering the spelling.
Mavado rose to fame for his singles, “Dying” and “Weh Dem A Do,” which were played all over the world.
